Series of coconut portraits for the Jersey City Museum exhibition called Tropicalisms. The exhibition explored stereotypes. All images are 10 x 10, padauk frames. The titles by design were named after tropical drinks that included coconut. Typically, designed for tourists when on vacation.
In Lilium, a vase of lilies decay and reverse to full bloom over and over. Lilies are thought to symbolize chastity and virtue, in this mirrored composition the lilies rebuild, thus restoring virtue only to lose it again leaving the viewer to realize the inevitable passage of time.
